Otters in the water

3 otters swimming across the bay again this morning:

….which reminds me of this song by Harvey Andrews, a folk singer who often played support to rock bands in England in the 70s.

Elk Hair

In my 35 years living here, I’ve never (thankfully) seen elk (moose / elg) here, nor signs of them (poop), although they are common in the forest and are regular in winter on Malvikodden (the peninsular on the other side of the bay). I found what looks to me to be elk hair in the garden yesterday…

Birds in the garden 13th February 2018

2. My handsome grey red squirrel disappears up the tree with a grunt

3. I had a  rodent visitor in the night on the balcony on the second floor outside my bedroom…it had climbed up through the Clematis

4. Redpolls with several others

5. Long-tailed tits

6. Bully Robin!

Grey red squirrel

An attractive grey  “red squirrel” was in the garden this morning; it was 6 years ago I had a squirrel in the garden!!
